So, that of you who did not know, Jay was missing Saturday & came back Sunday. Friday night @ 11, he came barreling out of the bedroom & was violently puking for about 15 mins. After I checked on him I went outside & smoked 1/2 of one of Stu's camels to keep myself from hurling. I have smoked maybe 5 cigarettes since I quit 7 years ago & I hated this one. I used to smoke 2 1/2 packs of camel wide filters everyday & I could not deal with this thing. I went back in & made sure he was cool & went back to whatever I was doing, probably reading or Nintendo. I periodically went in to make sure he didn't Hendrix on me. He swore he didn't take anything; he was not drunk & doesn't do drugs. I purposely looked at his throw up & only saw food. We later found out it was only a GI virus, but I am getting ahead of myself. ..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
he got up for work at 7 am, since he was so ill, I asked him to call out & he refused stating he had to be at work. We live in Little Heaven; it is a sort-of town between magnolia & Frederica. The 1st half of our park is magnolia; we live in the Frederica section. Jay works in Seaford which is an hour away. He had to be there by 9 & was barely out the door at 8:20.
At 9:10 the calls started pouring in. Jay never showed for work. Each person there seemed to call every 10 to 20 mins. Since jay has never been able to maintain a cell phone, I had to call basically everyone local that is on my contact list. No luck. Cos of the nature of jay's ailments & the fact he was sick, I put out a police report for him. I had already called all the police stations & hospitals in Kent & Sussex counties. The state police were the only ones to take me seriously & they treated me like a paranoid housewife. I advised them to double check the hospitals, other police stations & the wal*marts. Jay often may stop at one as a base of operations, cos they are open 24/7, mostly & have a bathroom.
Since jay had my only car I could not physically look for him. His work had checked the roadside to see if he was disabled along the way. I had some friends check the parking lot of Kent general to see if he was there, cos they will tell you there is no listing if someone asked to not be on the call list. I even had friends check other friend's houses who didn't have phones, in case he was there.
Only 1 friend had seen him on Saturday. Jay had stopped by about 11a & said he needed to lie down. After about 1/2 hour he left. I think it was cos the friend questioned him being there & not at home or work.
The whole time I was up in arms looking for him, he was behind a wal*mart. Obviously the police did not look for him & they had my plates. They refused the picture I offered too. He was in bad shape. He lost whatever food he had in him from dinner. He did not take his metformin (sic?) for his diabetes & had not eaten since he took ill. He was in the car, in the heat wave & passing in and out.
A concerned customer rapped on the window & jay got it together enough to reach a nearby friend's house, which immediately put him on the phone to me. He came home very shortly after that. He was gone for roughly 40 hours & missed 2 days of work.
I had to take his to the emergency room at horrible old Kent general & he was treated for the GI & dehydration. We were at the freaking 'mergcy room for about 5 hours, but part of that time was cos he had to take an IV bag to hydrate him. Don't ask me what cos I forgot what it was. As much as I am relieved he is ok, I am worried about him keeping his job. I had quit mine. He also had my car, I have very little left in my savings & he had the only mailbox key, as his mom had lost it years ago, so I was scared what would be of Jaden & me as well.
Well anyway I am sorry this was long, but glad to get off my chest. Thanks for all who helped & listened to me!
