I am on an Ozymandias kick right now. If you did not notice the quote on my profile, it is from a sonnet by Percy Bysshe Shelley.

I am freaking out about The Watchmen movie. I was too small to catch this series when it originally was released, but I caught the trade paperback when I was about 15 & have been rereading it since. The main villain, of the same name, goes through an ozymandian arch, which I find bloody amusing. Nothing is more hilarious to me, than to watch someone hang themselves with their own hubris. Unfortunately, I tend to fall into this category myself.

Since Alan Moore does not like adaptations of his work and has turned down action figures & other likeness rights for merchandise, I never thought I would see this. Terry Gilliam (of Monty Python, director of 12 Monkeys, Brazil & Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, if you weren't sure about this other obsession of mine) was set to direct it in the late 80's I want to say & neither hairy old curmudgeon could stand each other. Gilliam deemed the project unfilmable. I only hope I haven't gotten myself so excited, that I set myself up for disappointment.
